Classroom Notes

It’s already November and with it we expect to see some rainy weather. Please remember to dress your kids warmly, and layer those clothes. If it’s not raining, we will be going outside! Also make sure you label your kids clothes so we can return them to the proper owner.
In November we’ll be talking about our senses, doing lots of fall projects and some turkey activities as well.
We’ll be doing a lot of projects that require SPICES…..so if you can donate cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, pumpkin pie spice or cloves please bring them in!
We’re very thankful you are all a part of our extended Brush Creek family. Have a great month!!

Closing Dates

Just to remind you, we will be closed November 10 (Veteran’s Day). We will also be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday November 22,23, 24. Enjoy your family time together. Remember, you are only charged for respite time when school is in session, so these closing dates have been taken into account on your bill.

Fundraising Notes

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Innisbrook wrapping paper fundraiser. The wrapping paper should arrive before the end of November. We’ll let you know when you can pick it up. We raised over $3,000 for our school. Remember, you can go to www.Innisbrook.com and order wrapping paper year round and Brush Creek will still receive 50%.
Fundraising chairs Kelly Madsen, MaryEv Betterly, Amy Farmiloe and Lauren Wood wish to remind you about their Evening in Paradise kick off meeting. It will be held here at school on Nov. 8th at 6:30.  We hope many of you will decide to join in to help with this wonderful event as many are needed to make it a huge success! Last year we raised $40,000 to benefit our program and your children!!! (

A Hello from the BCNS Board

The Board of BCNS would like to start using the monthly newsletter to help update parents regarding goals set and accomplishments made. The last meeting was an important one. New members were welcomed and given a brief overview of board protocol.
Two nights later a long range planning session was held where on-coming and outgoing Board members combined with staff brainstormed ideas to make our program even better. You will see the results of these goals over the next year as we implement many changes/improvements. (

Early Morning Respite

Many of you arrive at school prior to 9:00 and are waiting out in the front for the doors to open. Did you know you can pay for only one half hour of respite and come in at 8:30? That way you can avoid the crazy parking lot at 9:00, AND you can get in out of the weather!!! With rainy weather coming this is the best offer in town!! See Linda if you’d like to contract for this time slot. (back to top)

See Saw Orders

The holiday season is a wonderful time for visiting with family and friends, giving thanks, and curling up with a good book.  One of the best ways to share the joy of reading with your child is through Scholastic’s See Saw and Firefly book clubs. Their prices can’t be beat!
The month, for example, you and your child can enjoy the heartwarming seasonal story, “The Biggest, Best Snowman” (See Saw).  It’s about a little girl whose family thinks she is too little to do many things. In the meantime she builds the biggest, best snowman.  In addition there is “Snow Friends” (Firefly). In this book, Little Bear wakes up from his winter sleep to find…….SNOW!  Wouldn’t it be fun to have someone to play with?  This delightful tale is perfect for discussions about cooperation. (
